Philip and Nancy Garrido to be sentenced today for Jaycee Lee Dugard kidnapping
(CBS/KTVN/AP) PLACERVILLE, Calif. - Philip and Nancy Garrido, the couple who kidnapped California woman Jaycee Lee Dugard as a girl and held her captive for 18 years, are to be sentenced today.

The two defendants pleaded guilty in April to kidnapping and rape under a deal that calls for Phillip Garrido to receive a prison term of 431 years to life, and Nancy Garrido to get a maximum term of 36 years to life.
The deal was designed, in part, to spare Dugard and her children from having to testify at a trial.
Dugard was 11 when she was snatched from a South Lake Tahoe street. She will have an opportunity Thursday to present the court with a statement about her ordeal. District Attorney Vern Pierson has not said if she will attend Thursday's hearing or instead have her statement read into the record for her.
According to CBS affilaite KTVN, reports say a judge will also hear arguments from the media seeking to unseal grand jury transcripts and other documents in the case, something the district attorney and Nancy's lawyer both oppose.
