Philadelphia Teen Shot Dead, Police Still Looking for Suspect, Motive, Says Report
NEW YORK (CBS) One week has passed since an 18-year-old boy was found dead on a Philadelphia street from an apparent gunshot wound, and police still do not have any leads as to where or why he was killed, say reports.
Christopher Foster reportedly left his Roxborough home last week around 8:00 p.m. with a close friend, according to The Philadelphia Daily News.
His mother, Patsy Foster, said the friend told her that shortly after the two left the house, an assailant pulled up in a car with a shotgun and the two boys ran in opposite directions, reports the paper.
Sixteen minutes later, Christopher's body was found dumped on a street. But investigators are still unsure where he was killed and have to identify a suspect or motive behind the senseless murder.
Foster told investigators that she can't think of a reason why anyone would want to harm her son, who she described as "an old soul," reports the Daily News.
She hopes anyone who may know something about the incident will come forward and notify authorities.
"It's not like it was 1 or 2 in the morning - it was 8 o'clock," she told the paper. "It really hurts my heart to imagine what the last thing he saw was and to know that I wasn't there to help him."
So far, no arrests have been made in the investigation.
