(CBS) Nominations for the 2012 People's Choice Awards have been unveiled, and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" tops the pack with nine nods.

Pop star Katy Perry and Fox's hit TV series, "Glee," follow closely behind with seven nominations.

"The Vampire Diaries," "How I Met Your Mother," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Grey's Anatomy" also received multiple nominations.

"The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco will host the awards ceremony, which airs live on CBS from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Jan. 11.

The People's Choice Awards kick off the start of 2012's busy film and music awards season. Winners are chosen by popular vote, not by critics or industry associations.

Voting for the 38th annual ceremony ends Dec. 6. Vote here.
