Pa. driver charged in hit-and-run that killed girl on bike

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Pa. --Pennsylvania State Police arrested a man in Tuesday the hit-and-run death of a 12-year-old girl that was riding her bicycle, reports CBS affiliate WBNG.

24-year-old Devon Greeley is charged in Tioga County with accidents involving death, vehicular homicide, and evidence-tampering.

State police said the girl was struck by a sport utility vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday on Route 287 in Morris Township near the New York state line. Police said the vehicle fled the scene.

The vehicle in question was described by police as a white hatchback-style Chevrolet Traverse, according to the station. Troopers also said that the vehicle was damaged in the front and missing a passenger side view mirror.

Greeley was arraigned before a district justice and sent to the county prison in lieu of $650,000 bail.

Court documents indicated that he requested representation by the county public defender's office, which didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday evening. A listed number for him couldn't be found.
