Pelosi, Reid Extend Olive Branch To Bush
Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are reaching out to the White House in a renewed push to rally support for the economic bailout bill, saying in a letter to the president that "we are confident we will pass a responsible bill in the very near future."
Pelosi and Reid do not recommend any specific changes to the bill, but promise they are "committed to working with you and our Republican colleagues to enact a bipartisan bill without further delay."
This seems to be an effort to calm the waters after yesterday's complete meltdown on Wall Street and Capitol Hill.
