Pee-wee Herman rides into "Top Chef: Texas" as guest judge

(CBS) Pee-wee Herman brought his childish charm and his red Schwinn bike to this week's "Top Chef: Texas." So what was the first challenge? Making Pee-wee's favorite breakfast food - pancakes.

SPOILER ALERT

"I love pancakes, but I'm not gonna marry them!" exclaimed Herman, who basically had the same critique for every chef's stack of pancakes proclaiming that each was the best he's ever had. Apparently, Ed's pancakes turned out to be the best of the best, winning the challenge and the $5,000 but no immunity from elimination.

Next, all the chefs headed off to the Alamo for the elimination challenge of "Pee-wee's Big Adventure," where everyone jetted off on bikes to shop for food and to find a restaurant that would let them use their kitchen to cook a family-style meal for the four judges and be back at the Alamo in three hours.

All of the chefs made it back in time, but they also ended up making the same dish - chicken. Herman said that now when he thinks of the Alamo, he'll think of: "Chicken. Lots of chicken."

In the end, Lindsay, who was uncertain if she would even make it back to the Alamo, won the challenge because of Pee-wee's love for food in the shape of a boat and Grayson's mixing of butternet squash and tomato ultimately sent her packing her knives.
