Paul Bunyan statue, 7-ft. tall, stolen from Pa. shop
(CBS/AP) NEW CENTERVILLE, Pa. - If you come across a 7-foot tall fiberglass statue of mythological lumberjack Paul Bunyan, please contact the police in New Centerville, Pa.
They say a likeness of the hulking woodcutter of North American folklore was stolen Friday - along with the bench he was resting on - in front of a shop in the town about 65 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat reports that owner Michael Miller says he paid about $1,200 for the fiberglass statue, which was dressed in a frontiersman-style hat and blue coat.
While you're at it, keep an eye out, too, for a bronze, 300 pound statue of Dr. Seuss's lovable "Lorax," which was taken from the backyard of the La Jolla, Calif. home of the iconic child author's widow, about three weeks ago.
