Paris Hilton's products generated $1.3 billion since 2005

(CBS) Paris Hilton means business. The 30-year-old socialite says she's raked in a whopping $1.3 billion over the last six years. Yes, you read that correctly - billion, not million.

Just how does she maintain such monetary success? Hilton may be steering clear of tabloid headlines these days, but her products continue to make their way into consumers' hands.

"I have 35 stores and 17 product lines," Hilton told the U.K. version of FHM magazine. "And then there's my racing team, my 14 fragrances and my new project, the Paris Hilton Beach Club chain. The first one is opening in the Philippines soon. It's going to have nightclubs, restaurants, bars, gyms. Everything really."

Being a hotel heiress has its perks; in addition to the obvious, it seems to have taught Hilton some business skills.

"I'm involved in my products every step of the way," Hilton revealed. "They've produced more than $1.3 billion in revenue since 2005," she added, noting that her fragrances are doing really well right now.

And for anyone out there itching for some new songs from Hilton, you'll be relieved to know she's working on the follow-up to her 2006 debut album "Paris." The album, which was released on her own label, Heiress Records, was widely perceived as a flop at the time -- although the single "Stars are Blind" did perform well overseas.

"I have a huge passion for house music," said Hilton, who's dating Dutch DJ Afrojack. "I just haven't been able to focus on it, because I have been doing reality TV for so long now. I've been working on the album with lots of other top DJs for a while now and I think people will be really surprised. It's very modern and very catchy; perfect party music."

Something to look forward to later this year ... In the mean time, don't forget to spritz yourself with a little Tease on your way out the door.
