Palin To Speak At Son's Deployment Ceremony

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(CINCINNATI) After almost two weeks on the campaign trail with John McCain, Sarah Palin will return to Alaska to speak at her son Track's Army deployment ceremony in Fairbanks on Thursday, The Politico's Mike Allen reports. The ceremony is sure to take on added symbolic importance, since it falls on the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

While in Alaska, Palin will also sit down with ABC's Charlie Gibson for her first national interview since being named McCain's running mate.

Palin will stump alongside McCain for one more day on Tuesday before she splits off and begins hosting public events and fundraisers on her own. The Republican ticket will speak at rallies in Lebanon, Ohio, and Lancaster, Pa., today.
