Wine marketplace and community site Vinfolio has raised $4.5 million in a first round of funding led by Panorama Capital. Via the company’s marketplace, which launched in July, collectors can buy and sell fine wines (Vinfolio takes a cut). Vinfolio also offers VinCellar, an online platform wine collectors can use to manage their collections and also to share “tasting notes.” On the company’s blog, CEO Steve Bachmann writes that he along with other individuals had already invested $9.5 million into the company. He says the new funds will be used to “continue our ambitious development plans on multiple fronts.” Release.
