The Michael Jackson memorial service is underway in LA, and stats on online viewing, streaming and social media activity are already coming in. First up is Facebook, which reports that as of 10:30 a.m PDT over 300,000 users had logged in through the joint CNN/Facebook live video player—and the network is seeing approximately 6,000 status updates per minute. (No streaming stats yet, but we’ll update accordingly).
Other networks that have pulled in Facebook’s Live Stream box include E! Online, MTV and ABC News. Meanwhile, the Michael Jackson fan page has grown to over seven million fans—attracting a million more followers than President Obama. More to come.
