Owners of teaparty.com: Make us an offer

The three members of the Canadian band The Tea Party could be in for a very big pay day.

The band owns the web address teaparty.com ("No politics ... just rock and roll"), and in the last week has been flooded with offers to sell it.

It could be worth a lot of money to the people behind the right-wing Tea Party movement in the United States - or its detractors.

The value of the URL may have spiked in the last week after the band and its valuable commodity were featured on Bloomberg Businessweek's website.

The story was picked up around the world, and the band's phones haven't stopped ringing since.

Bass player Stuart Chatwood says the band would rather not sell it to someone associated with the Tea Party movement, since they don't agree with their politics.

But he adds the band is realistic about getting the most they can for the web address - if they decide to sell, that is.

Chatwood says one agent even claimed the web address could be worth $10 million dollars or more, although he's not buying that.
