Ore. man decided to rob bank after viewing film about recession; pleads guilty
(CBS/AP) PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland man Raymond Knudson pleaded guilty Monday to robbing a Bank of America branch in April, having confessed to police within minutes of the heist, according to the Oregonion.
Knudson, 50, allegedly entered the bank and handed over a robbery note, getting money in return. But then he drove straight to the local police, handing over all the money - $425 - and confessed, according to court documents.He told investigators that after watching "Inside Job," a documentary that explored the cause of the Great Recession, he felt compelled to rob the bank.
He is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 10.
