Ohio murder suspects, couple, arrested in Florida

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. - A couple wanted in connection with the murder of a 45-year-old man in Ohio was arrested Saturday in Daytona Beach Shores, Fla., following a short chase, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

Matthew Dowdle, 24, and Eve Kelley, 33, were wanted in connection with the murder of Joseph Struthers, who was found dead in a park in Cadiz, Ohio late last month, according to CBS affiliate WTRF.

Authorities made the arrest after they received a call reporting a sighting of a stolen vehicle wanted in connection with Struthers' death at a Walgreens drugstore in Daytona Beach Shores.

When police responded, the couple reportedly fled on foot, but it wasn't long before officers took the pair into custody, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Both Dowdle and Kelley are charged with resisting an officer without violence, grand theft of a motor vehicle and begin a fugitive from justice. Additional charges are pending, reports the Sentinel.

The couple is being held without bond and is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
