(CBS/AP) AKRON, Ohio - Police in northeast Ohio say a 13-year-old boy stole a pickup truck from an apartment complex, led police on a high-speed chase and rammed a cruiser.

The incident took place Sunday afternoon when a police officer tried to stop a pickup truck that was driving the wrong way down a street. The truck took off, leading officers on a chase that reached 80 mph.

According to The Akron Beacon Journal, officer Daniel Marks first thought the driver was "an older woman going the wrong way down a one-way street."

At one point, the pickup truck backed up and rammed a cruiser. The chase ended when the truck rode through a fence and crashed into a truck in a parking lot.

The teen was reportedly treated at a hospital for minor injuries. Police said he had an outstanding warrant for assault in a prior incident.

The boy, whose identity has not been released, faces charges of fleeing, receiving stolen property and felonious assault, which stems from hitting the police cruiser.

Marks reportedly said the boy told officers he found the truck "running in the woods" somewhere.
