Odd Future aka OFWGKTA: Rap Group Electrifies on Jimmy Fallon
OFWGKTA look hungry (XL Recordings)

(CBS) Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. Seems like a mouthful? Well, get used to it. The Los Angeles hip-hop collective Odd Future (or OFWGKTA), and their ringleader, Tyler the Creator, may just be the hottest new force in rap today.

The Wolf Gang's electrifying performance on Wednesday's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is just the latest in a string of big time moves the group is making. On Monday, the crew signed a one-album deal with major UK label XL Recordings (home of such heavyweights as Radiohead and Vampire Weekend.)

Tyler, 19, is the head of the pack, but OFWGKTA is an 11-man team of teenage Los Angelinos. Their harder-than-hard songs have been called grim, frightening or, according to music site Pitchfork, just "bizarro."

They curse, they shout and they're definitely NSFW. But those who can stomach the sometimes-repellent, but always captivating, lyrics will find one of the most daring, in-your-face, and unpredictable musical acts to come along in a long time.

Even if you don't like them (and there are plenty of reasons to use in your defense) at least get used to it. Odd Future's next album comes out in April, and the first single - "Yonkers" - has been racking up a hundred thousand views a day, according to XL. Love them or hate them, you can't ignore them. OFWGKTA are on the hunt.
