Obama to meet with letter writers on health care

The president will meet Tuesday with 10 Americans who have penned letters to him to thank him for the health-care law, according to a White House official. The meeting takes place in the same week the House considers a bill to repeal the law. Mr. Obama has issued a veto threat against the bill.

Every week, White House staffers go through the thousands of letters addressed to the president, and each night, they give the president 10 to read. The 10 letter writers the president is meeting Tuesday wrote about the positive impact of Obamacare on their lives and have been invited to the White House from 10 different states across the country. Their meeting is intended to help remind uninsured Americans to sign up for health care.

With less than two weeks left before the end of the open enrollment period, 9.6 million Americans have signed up for health care through state and federal exchanges.
