Obama To Discuss Budget At Baltimore School

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama intends to unveil his budget plan at a Baltimore school that he says exemplifies the need for continued investment in education.

Obama, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and White House budget director Jack Lew will visit Parkville Middle School, which focuses on science, technology, engineering and math.

The president is battling Republicans over spending priorities. He wants to use cuts in other programs to pay for increased spending on education, infrastructure, science and research, which he says is needed to boost U.S. competitiveness. GOP lawmakers are insisting on broader budget cuts across the board.
