(CBS) NEW YORK - Police arrested an 8-year-old Bronx boy on Tuesday for allegedly slashing a 9-year-old on the neck with a double-edged razor blade at a school playground, CBS New York reports.
The incident reportedly took place at Public School 132 in the Morrisania section of the Bronx. The blade was recovered in the school's playground, police said.
School officials said the boys exchanged words before the lunchtime slashing. The wound required stitches at Bronx Lebanon Hospital.
The 8-year-old now faces juvenile assault and weapon charges. His case will be heard in family court.
