NRCC Up With New Obama Ad In Louisiana

The National Republican Congressional Committee is up with yet another ad connecting the Democratic nominee in this weekend's upcoming Louisiana special election with Barack Obama.

"The Obama-Pelosi team needs Don Cazayoux to win this special election. See, Cazayoux will be a vote for their agenda, so they fund his campaign," a narrator says in the ad. "Is Obama right for Louisiana? Is Pelosi? You decide."

The advertising referencing Obama and Pelosi comes as Republicans are attempting to connect state Rep. Don Cazayoux with national Democratic bogeymen in an attempt to hang on to conservative-minded Baton Rouge area district.

Cazayoux has run as a socially conservative, populist Democrat, and has distanced himself from the national party -- and has led in all public polling.

The NRCC's internal polling this month, as reported in today's Politico, shows Obama viewed unfavorably in the Baton Rouge-area district. Fifty percent of district-wide voters said they viewed him unfavorably, while 37 percent viewed him favorably.
