Noose Grows Tighter Around Curt Weldon

This one is almost funny.  Cecilia Grimes, a lobbyist close to former Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.), has pleaded guilty to trying to destroy documents sought the Justice Department during its investigation of the former lawmaker, according to the Associated Press (hat tip: talkingpointsmemo.com).

Grimes reportedly r"eceived grand jury subpoenas for documents related to Weldon and quickly threw out the documents. FBI agents found the documents in her garbage cans. Authorities say she also threw out her Blackberry at a fast-food restaurant to keep the FBI from retrieving her e-mail."

Weldon is being investigated by Justice over his ties to his daughter's former lobbying firm. A former Weldon aide has already pleaded guilty in the case.
