After an indecisive meeting last night with Charlie Rangel, Nancy Pelosi told John Harwood on CNBC that Rangel's fate remains undecided -- though she was vague on who The Decider is.
HARWOOD: There is talk Ways and Means Chairman may step aside from his chairmanship as the New York Times called for this morning. Is that going to happen? Do you think it should happen?
PELOSI: I don't think that decision has been made. We have a lot of confidence in Mr. Rangel and when we have news on that we will let you know what it is, but that decision has not been made.
All this seems to be intended to shoot down a New York Post report saying she's pushing the Harlem Democrat to step aside pending ethics investigations.
The Harlem Democrat, fighting for his political life, plans to make his case to the New York delegation today after addressing Ways and Means Dems last night.
