Nixon's 'Sex & The City' Farewell

Cynthia Nixon recently received her second Emmy nomination for playing no-nonsense attorney Miranda Hobbs on the sizzling HBO comedy series "Sex & The City."

On the upcoming Sunday episode, she meets her latest potential love interest, played by Blair Underwood.

Nixon visited The Early Show to discuss the show's final season.

As part of a group of women who juggle their careers, friendship and relationships in New York City, Nixon's Miranda has one more added responsibility — motherhood. So, Miranda must also deal with the ramifications of her complicated relationship with Steve, the father of her child.

"Sex & The City" also stars Sarah Jessica Parker as New York-based writer Carrie Bradshaw, Kim Cattrall as PR executive Samantha Jones and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York.

Nixon started her acting career at the age of 12 in a 1979's "ABC Afterschool Special" called "The Seven Wishes of a Rich Kid." Some television viewers may not have recognized the younger, blonde Nixon, who plays a redhead on "Sex & The City."

The actress went on to star on Broadway and off-Broadway in productions such as "The Philadelphia Story," "Lydie Breeze" and working simultaneously on "The Real Thing" and "Hurlyburly." Nixon, however, maintained her television work and expanded her career work to movies. She had a prominent role in 1986's "The Manhattan Project" and smaller parts in such varied pictures as 1993's "Addams Family Values" and 1996's "Marvin's Room."

In 2002, she was nominated for a Golden Globe award and Emmy for her role in "Sex & The City." She was nominated again for an Emmy in 2003.
