NEW YORK (CBS) Nicollette Sheridan, former star of the ABC hit series "Desperate Housewives," has agreed to withdraw the most severe claims in her $20 million lawsuit against the show's creator and producer, Marc Cherry, say reports.

In the lawsuit filed in April, Sheridan claimed Cherry "took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head," when asking about a line on the Wisteria Lane set in September 2008. A month later that forceful "hit" was reduced to a mere "light tap," according to E! Online.

Now, in a joint stipulation filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Friday, the actress has backpedaled even further on her allegations. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sheridan dropped her claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress and said she would not uphold any claim for physical or emotional damages, the trade-off being that ABC will not require the blonde bombshell to undergo any physical or mental examination.

Sheridan can still proceed with the case against Cherry, ABC and Touchstone Television, in which she alleged she was wrongfully terminated after complaining about the assault, though the damages she claims to have incurred could be significantly limited, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
