Nicole Nixes Baby Bump Rumors
Is she or isn't she pregnant?
That's the question many people are asking after photos surfaced of newlywed Nicole Kidman leaving a Target in Nashville recently toting what appeared to be much more than bags of department store goodies. Some gossip hounds insisted that she looked like she was carrying a baby bump.
But, Kidman's spokeswoman, Catherine Olim, told theshowbuzz.com that the actress is not expecting.
"Nicole Kidman is not pregnant," Olim said. "This story began with the tabloids and truly is no one's business, but I am compelled to respond, just to try to put rumors to rest."
In case you missed it on the TV magazine show "Extra" last night or elsewhere in cyberspace, the photos are available on the celebrity blog imnotobsessed.com.
The images were posted on another celebrity blog popsugar.com, but were subsequently removed.
It's easy to see why the photos, which show Kidman in a white flowing dress, have sparked baby buzz.
The tabloids have helped to fan the flames.
The July 3 issue of Star magazine had a picture of Kidman with a headline that screamed: "Baby News! Pregnant At 39!" An unidentified source told the magazine that Kidman is three months pregnant.
Star printed photos of Kidman and her supposed bump, which were snapped as she left a yoga studio in June.

For Star magazine, baby bump analysis has been a risky business. Reese Witherspoon filed a lawsuit against Star on June 26, alleging the magazine ran a false story which said she was pregnant with her third child.
Since their fairy tale nuptials in Sydney, Kidman and Urban have been under the paparazzi microscope in Nashville where Urban records his music.
They watched fireworks over the July 4 weekend from the rooftop of Buffalo Billiards, a popular pool hall near the riverfront in Nashville, the Associated Press reported.
The owner of the billiards club confronted some men taking pictures with long lenses, the AP said.
On July 9, Urban performed alongside country star Kenny Chesney in an arena filled with some 47,000 fans.
This time last year, paparazzi giddily snapped shots of Nicole wearing what looked like an engagement ring, fueling rumors that the couple planned to make their relationship official.
Back then, a rep told People magazine that talk of an engagement was "just a rumor."
In May, Kidman dropped a bombshell at a New York event and revealed that Urban was in fact her fiancé. The next month a priest pronounced them man and wife, with her adopted children with Tom Cruise — Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11 — in tow.
Urban will be embarking on a 13-city tour on Thursday, beginning in Ontario and wrapping in late August in Vermont.
