NFL player Christopher Owens accused of destroying ex-girlfriend's apartment

(CBS) - Atlanta Falcons cornerback Christopher Owens is being investigated by Gwinnett County, Ga. police for allegedly destroying his ex-girlfriend's apartment and dousing her most valuable possessions in bleach, according to TMZ.

TMZ reports that Owens' ex-girlfriend, La Tia Terry, mother of his 9-month-old son, called police Sunday night claiming that Owens entered her apartment while she was gone and destroyed her possessions.

According to the police report, Terry claims Owens smashed holes in the wall, destroyed expensive electronics, broke the baby's crib, and poured bleach on her jewelry, pictures, and designer clothes.

Terry estimates the total amount of damage at around $15,000, says TMZ.

Owens and Terry reportedly had an argument over their custody arrangement the night before the alleged incident.

Terry filed for a restraining order against Owens the day she reported the incident. He has not been charged with the crime.
