New video released In fatal two-state road rage case
BALTIMORE - Authorities are hoping that newly released surveillance video will prompt a break in a deadly road rage case that stretched from Maryland into Pennsylvania.
According to CBS Baltimore, the video released Thursday shows a blue Ford Ranger heading south on Interstate 81 in Franklin County, Pa. in the early hours of Jan. 4, shortly after police believe the pickup truck violently rammed Timothy Davison, a Maine man, off the interstate, leaving him stuck in the median.
But officials say that wasn't enough for the driver, who they say is seen in the video after turning around, moments before he fatally fired multiple gunshots into Davison's car, the station reports.
The 28-year-old Davison was driving back to Maine after visiting family in Florida. Police say the predator in the pickup truck chased Davison for 15 miles, starting near Hagerstown, Md.
"Throughout the course of the investigation, everything that we've come across...we are confident that is the vehicle," police said.
"I think it's really important for people to come forward and be witnesses," the victim's mother, Theresa Allocca, told CBS Baltimore.
"You could see on the southbound lane where people's brake lights were showing, so they did slow down. I'm sure they saw something," Allocca said.
"Hopefully by issuing the video, it might jog some people's memories," said police.
