New Palace For Swedish Princess

Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria and her fiancée, Daniel Westling, will have one less thing to think about as their wedding approaches: a new home.

The couple received a gift on Thursday from their goverment -- a grand, 19th Century palace.

Haga Palace, on the outskirts of Stockholm, was previously used by the government as a residence for visiting foreign dignitaries.

But after the couple's marriage next year on June 19, 2010, the residence will return to the monarch.

The royal family moved from the relatively modest palace in 1947, and two decades later turned over the rights of disposal to the government.

The palace was completed in 1805, and was used by Swedish royals as a permanent or temporary residence. Victoria's father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, was born there.

The Swedish heiress is the oldest child of the king and Queen Silvia.
