N.H. mom charged in 3-year-old daughter's death
NASHUA, N.H. - The father of a New Hampshire woman charged with beating death her 3-year-old child to death says he stands behind his daughter.
Prosecutors say 25-year-old Katlyn Marin assaulted Brielle Gage several times on Nov. 24 and 25. Brielle died shortly after being rushed to a hospital on the 25th. An autopsy determined she died of blunt force injuries.
Marin was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree murder in the case. She appeared Monday on a video screen in district court in Nashua, where she formerly lived.
Marin did not speak. Bail was not set and she will remain jailed pending a hearing on Jan. 13.
Her father, Harry Gage, attended the brief hearing and said some of the information being spread about his daughter is false.
Marin's court-appointed lawyer, Justin Hayes, declined comment.
