So you're headed to New York for a conference. Hmmm... wonder who else will be there. Colleagues? Co-workers? Others in your field? Find out with Placely, a social-networking site designed to help business travelers connect.

All you do is input a few details about your upcoming trip: Placely shows you who else in your network will be at the same location at the same time, whether it's because they live there or they're traveling like you. From there you can set up lunch dates, business meetings, or whatever.

Pretty cool, but as with any social-networking site, the success of Placely hinges on whether anyone actually signs up. (These guys should merge with LinkedIn for an instantly massive user base.) Of course, it's a free service, so what have you got to lose?
