Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka Expecting Twins

NEW YORK (CBS) Neil Patrick Harris will soon be a dad for the first time - twice.

The actor announced that he and longtime partner David Burtka are expecting twins.

"So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall," Harris posted on his Twitter account on Saturday. "We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..."

According to E! Online, the twins are being carried by a surrogate. Last year, it was reported that the couple had visited a surrogacy agency in Los Angeles.

Harris and Burtka have been together for about six years.
