NBA, meet Motion Capturing
Gamecore got an exclusive look at the soon to be released "NBA 2K8 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest" by 2K.
Though only partially completed, 2K showed the crowd a demo of the game, which offers some new and exciting features.
The new additions to the game include the slam dunk contest taking place outside - a first in gaming - and on the Las Vegas strip, which provides the game with a vibrant backdrop.
Following the sneak peak at the swanky W hotel, the party headed to Harlem as NBA player's Chris Paul, Andre Iguadale, Gerald Green and Rudy Gay participated in the first-ever nighttime outdoor motion captioning shoot at the famous Rucker Park.
Gamecore caught up with Rudy Gay and Gerald Green on the sideline to discuss their favorite games and the motion-captioning shoot.
"It's my first time," Rudy Gay said of doing motion capturing. "It was fun to play two on two with Andre, though he did kind of throw it for us at the end."
In Rudy's spare time he has been enjoying playing 2K hoops because it's "different and not like your typical basketball game."
Gerald was also basking in the glow of participating in motion capturing. " I had a great experience tonight. I've never done anything with mocap, and didn't really know how it was done. So to be able to come out here and be involved with this was very special."
Gerald is no amateur video gamer. "I have every system out there, all the way back to Atari. If I am not on the court, I'm playing games. It's all I do."
Gerald's favorite is "whatever is hot, and right now that's 'NCAA Hoops.' "
