National Doughnut Day 2010: Freebies Galore

Put your diet on hold because today, June 4, marks National Doughnut Day.

To help celebrate, a few of the big chains are offering a free doughnut or special promotion.

Participating Krispy Kreme stores are giving out doughnuts today free of purchase, while Dunkin' Donuts is offering a free doughnut with any beverage purchase.

National Doughnut Day began in 1938 was founded by the Chicago area Salvation Army to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers soldiers World War I.
