Napoleanic prisoner's final testament: A 20-inch guillotine

A working 20 inch-tall model of a guillotine, fashioned from scrap animal bone about 200 years ago, is about to go up for auction. The replica, thought to be the handicraft of a Napoleonic prisoner on death row, was uncovered doing the course of a house valuation conducted in Dorchester, England.

"I was doing a routine valuation in a house when I saw the model," Amy Brenan, from Duke's auction house auction house in Dorchester, told The Telegraph. "The family had no idea what it was."

Nothing more is known about the artisan. The model guillotine will be put up for bid by Duke's auction house next month.
