Mumford & Sons back at No. 1 on Billboard 200
Winning a couple of Grammys really does help boost record sales, at least for Mumford & Sons.
Following a big Grammy win for album of the year, the English folk-rock band's "Babel" landed back at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album charts. Billboard reports, according to Neilsen SoundScan, 185,000 copies of "Babel" were sold in the week ending Feb. 17.
"Babel" was released back in September and sold 600,000 copies in its first week of release, climbing to No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album charts, where it stayed for an additional two weeks after that.
Now the album has returned to the top of the charts, thanks in large part to the group's recent Grammys success. Aside from their album of the year victory, Mumford & Sons also scored another gramophone for long form music video for "Big Easy Express." The band also performed two songs during the ceremony.
Perhaps no surprise, in the No. 2 spot on the chart was the "2013 Grammy Nominees" compilation with an array of assorted nominated performers on the album.
On Tuesday it was announced that Mumford & Sons will be headling along with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and Paul McCartney at this year's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in June.
