Multiple shooting, police chase leave at least 3 dead
The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a mass shooting and deadly vehicle pursuit overnight in downtown Savannah, reports the CBS affiliate there, WTOC-TV.
Officials have now confirmed that four people were shot in City Market, a popular area with bars and restaurants.
It was first reported that three people were shot, but one victim showed up to the hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries, bringing the total of shooting victims to four.
The condition of the other three and motive for the shooting weren't immediately clear.
A police chase of a vehicle with the shooting suspect in it followed the gunfire. It ended with a crash that police said left three people dead.
The SCMPD said persons of interest were being questioned.
