Multiple people wounded in shooting at Pittsburgh psychiatric facility, say officials
(CBS) PITTSBURGH - As many as five to seven people were reportedly wounded after a shooting at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic on Thursday afternoon, reports CBS Pittsburgh.
Emergency officials say the incident happened in the lobby of the building, and according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, there are reports there may be more than one shooter.
A University of Pittsburgh police officer was reportedly wounded in the leg, possibly grazed by a bullet.
The Post-Gazette now reports that officers are searching the building for the shooter and other victims. A message was reportedly sent to Pitt employees just after 2 p.m. saying that several people have been injured and "lock-down recommended until further notice."
It also said, "If safe to do so, tell others of this message."
