ORLAND PARK, Ill. (CBS/WBBM/AP) The shooting death of the mother of Comcast SportsNet reporter Sarah Kustok and former Northwestern University quarterback Zak Kustok has been ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner's office.

An autopsy report said 58-year-old Anita Kustok, of Orland Park, was pronounced dead Wednesday at Palos Community Hospital from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police are releasing few details about the case and Orland Park Police Cmdr. John Keating would not say where the shooting occurred.

Police say the 58-year-old Kustok was a teacher at Central Elementary School in Riverside.

"She is a beautiful person with a beautiful heart,'' said the school's principal Dr. Janice Limperis to the Chicago Sun-Times. "If anyone had a problem, she would find a positive way to look at it. We are devastated here. Her students are inconsolable. It's like losing a family member."

Her son, Zak, led Northwestern to the Big Ten fotball title in 2000, while daughter Sarah is a Comcast SportsNet reporter.
