Mother of 4 fatally shot outside Fla. homeless shelter

MIAMI- A Florida mother of four was shot and killed early Wednesday morning while standing near her car outside of a Miami homeless shelter, CBS Miami reports.

Anshamere Cephus, 28, known to friends as "Shay," was in front of a homeless shelter where her relative works when she was shot to death. Police aren't sure why she ended up there at 1 a.m. Authorities are searching for the person who pulled the trigger, says the station.

A witness heard gunshots and saw a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans running down the street. The man allegedly ran past security guards with a gun, according to CBS Miami.

No one caught the hooded figure.

Police aren't releasing any motive for the killing of Cephus yet, who had three children from a past relationship and a daughter with her current boyfriend.

Cephus's neighbors claim the couple has had loud arguments in the past, but none recently.

Police took the children out of the apartment, says the station. The state's Department of Children and Families said there is already a history with the family and has started investigating further into the incident. According to a friend of the family, Cephus's children are staying with their grandmother for now.
