Monitor Your Online Reputation with Trackur

A couple weeks ago we talked about ways to improve and protect your company's online reputation. Of course, half the battle is in determining just what that reputation is: How can you find out who's talking about you, what they're saying, and where? Enter Trackur, a reputation-monitoring service that searches news sites, blogs, social-networking services, and more for any mention of you and/or your company.

All you do is enter one or more keywords to search, along with optional filters ("must include," "does not include," etc.). Trackur quickly serves up search results you can sort by date or alphabetically. Better still, you can save searches for future use and access them via your RSS reader. You can also share the results via e-mail.

Trackur costs $18 monthly, though you can sign up for a free 14-day trial just by providing an e-mail address. Is it worth the money? You can accomplish much the same thing with Google Alerts, which is free, but those results don't go beyond Google's own search engine, and you can't easily share them. Still, Trackur doesn't really reveal your "reputation" so much as give you a couple useful search tools. Would you pay for a service like this? Hit the Comments and let us know.
