Mom Feared Teen Was 'Boy Crazy'

The mother of a Pennsylvania teenager who's now missing after her parents were shot to death feared her daughter was "boy crazy," the family's former housekeeper says.

Police say that Michael and Cathryn Borden, both 50, were killed shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday in their home in rural Warwick Township, which is about 60 miles west of Philadelphia.

A warrant has been issued for David Ludwig, 18, believed to be Kara's boyfriend.

Michael and Cathryn are thought to have been upset about Kara's relationship with Ludwig, due to the age difference.

It's not clear whether Kara is with Ludwig or, if she is, whether she was kidnapped or left willingly. Police say they're working under the assumption that, if she is, it isn't voluntary. An Amber Alert has been issued for Borden.

Reba Zimmerman, the ex-housekeeper,

The Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen Monday that Cathryn "was concerned that Kara was very boy crazy, just like many young teens, but she was e-mailing back and forth (with me) and she just poured her heart out to me as to 'What should I do?' And 'What a situation,' you know, just trying to avoid tragedy."

Zimmerman, who last saw the Bordens in September, said Cathryn never mentioned Ludwig to her by name.

She described Kara as "a very active 14-year-old, loved by her friends and family, very outgoing; (she) cares very much about her friends, and I know her friends care very much about her."

As for the possibility Kara went willingly with Ludwig, Zimmerman said, "I don't see it in her heart to rebel against her parents but, in this world, you just never know."

Zimmerman added that everyone in the area is "very shocked, simply knowing the Bordens as a very kind, loving family. In this community, nothing like this ever happens."
