Mo. man charged for allegedly shooting an 11-year-old who was setting off fireworks
(CBS/AP) St. Louis, Mo. - William Prada, 56, was charged with three counts of first-degree assault for allegedly shooting at three boys who were setting off fireworks last Thursday night.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that police say the boys were shooting off fireworks in an alley around 9:40 p.m. when Prada began yelling at them and then allegedly started
shooting.
One boy, 11, was shot in the hip and shots were fired at the two other boys, both 10 years old, according to paper. The wounded boy was stable, police say.
Prada was charged with three counts of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action on Friday.
A firearm was recovered when Prada was arrested. He is being held on a cash-only bail of $75,000.
