Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter separate

(CBS) Actress Minka Kelly and New York Yankees star Derek Jeter have split after three years of dating.

Kelly's rep confirmed the breakup to People on Friday.

"They care about each other and it was amicable," a source told the magazine. "They're still friends."

Kelly, 31, and Jeter, 37, who both kept their relationship very private, were often the subject of engagement rumors.

Just last month, the actress, who will next appear in ABC's reboot of "Charlie's Angels," was seen cheering for Jeter when he got his 3,000th career hit.
