Microsoft Surface 32 GB tablet sells out in UK

Microsoft's Surface tablet hasn't even hit store shelves yet, but one model is already sold out.

ZDNET reports that the 32 gigabyte version of the Surface tablet is sold out in the United Kingdom. It's not clear how many units were sold and when it would be restocked, but the 64 GB model is still available. It's only been about a week since the Microsoft opened up pre-orders for the Surface tablet.

Microsoft is holding a press event on Oct. 25in New York City. The software giant is widely expected to launch its new operating system Windows 8 the following day, along with the Surface tablet.

The Surface tablet is Microsoft's first tablet computer. It is currently available for pre-orders, starting at $499 for a 32 GB model.
