Michelle Wie began her golf career at age 4, introduced to the game by her parents, who both immigrated to the U.S. from Korea. In the video below, Wie told 60 Minutes in 2004: "I think I started beating them when I was 7 or 8."

"That sounded different than mine," remarked Steve Kroft, after seeing 14-year-old Michelle Wie hit a shot on the putting green. Kroft profiled Wie when she was just 14 and predicted to be the next Tiger Woods.

Two years after her first appearance on 60 Minutes, 16-year-old Michelle Wie and Steve Kroft meet again. Years later, Wie delivered on the great promise of her early golf career by winning the U.S. Women's Open on Sunday, her first major tournament, at age 24.
