Michelle Obama shines in Ralph Lauren at London farewell
(CBS) - First lady Michelle Obama capped off her state visit to England Wednesday night wearing an elegant design by Ralph Lauren for the Return State Dinner in London.
The black, off-the-shoulder evening gown featured a draped waist and a smooth crepe skirt. Mrs. Obama, who kept her hair in a tight, side-part updo, paired the look with a sparkly statement necklace, simple stud earrings and a flower cuff by Irish jewelry designer Tom Binns.

The first lady was playing host with husband President Barack Obama at the dinner honoring Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Queen Elizabeth II, who arrived wearing a floor-length white Angela Kelly evening gown with gold and silver sequins.
Other notable quests at the dinner were actors Colin Firth and Tom Hanks, actress Rita Wilson (Hanks' wife), soccer superstar David Beckham and author J.K. Rowling.
Last night's look was just one of many fashionable outfits Mrs. Obama put together throughout her visit. Some of the most notable include the royal blue Preen dress suit she wore when she landed in England from Ireland, and the ivory Tom Ford evening gown she picked for Tuesday's state dinner at Buckingham Palace
