Michelle Obama, Daughters Head to Broadway During Health Care Vote
As the House engaged in an intense health care reform debate on Sunday, Michelle Obama and the first daughters headed to Broadway.
According to the New York Daily News, Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama went to the show "Memphis" in New York, along with friends of the girls.
"They didn't make an announcement but when they came in, everybody noticed and started taking pictures. Then people started clapping too and there was a standing ovation for them," audience member Terri Mertz told the Daily News.
The musical is about a young, white radio DJ who's in love with a black singer during the 1950s when rock n' roll was emerging in Memphis, according to the show's Web site.
