NEW YORK (CBS/AP) A lawyer for reality TV star and accused White House gatecrasher Michaele Salahi isn't happy about her client's appearance on "The View."

Lawyer Lisa Bloom says the ABC show's producers turned on the applause light for the audience when Sherri Shepherd, one of the show's hosts, told Salahi that "you should be in jail.''

Bloom says her client's appearance Wednesday on the talk show was "degrading and demeaning."

It was further fallout from a show that ended with a backstage shouting match between Salahi and co-host Whoopi Goldberg. Goldberg came on the set during Salahi's appearance to urge her to talk more about the night she and her husband, Tariq, crashed President Barack Obama's state dinner last fall.

"The View'' spokesman Karl Nilsson said the backstage altercation began after Salahi supposedly accused Goldberg of hitting her on the show. He called the charge completely unfounded; Bloom says her client never said Goldberg hit her, but that Salahi had been startled by her.

Salahi went to the show Wednesday to promote her appearance on Bravo's "Real Housewives of D.C.," which premieres Thursday. She and her husband still are under investigation by a grand jury in connection with their attendance at President Obama's first state dinner in November.
