Miami's Shannon To Miss Season
Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Larry Shannon underwent surgery Thursday night to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He is expected to miss the entire 1998 season.
The surgery was performed by Dolphins team physician Dr. John Uribe at HealthSouth Doctor's Hospital in Miami.

Shannon, a third-round draft pick out of East Carolina, went down with the knee injury in his first training camp practice on July 22nd after signing a three-year contract.
Ironically, the situation was similar to last season when Yatil Green, Miami's first-round pick in the 1997 draft, tore up his knee in training camp and missed the entire season.
The injury to Shannon came two days after guard Randy Wheeler suffered spinal fractures and paralysis when his sport utility vehicle went off a Stuart, Florida highway during a rainstorm.
