Meek, Colleagues Go Abroad
A group of lawmakers led by Rep. Kendrick B. Meek (D-Fla.) are touring parts of Africa this week.
They’ll see a refugee camp in Chad and meet with the U.S. ambassadors to Ethiopia and the African Union and the Ethiopian minister of defense. And they will spend time in Kenya engaging in a cultural tour and “country briefing,” according to a tentative schedule, and will attend NATO/AFRICOM briefings.
